Finding Characteristic Polynomials for LFSMs Used as Test Pattern Generators

چکیده

– A built–in Test Pattern Generation (TPG) mechanism that is very popular for pseudorandom or pseudo–exhaustive TPG is a shift register whose initial portion is configured as a Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR), or some other kind of a Linear Finite State Machine (LFSM). A fundamental problem that exists in this mechanism is the presence of linear dependencies among the bit sequences produced by different stages. A formula that relates the linear dependencies with the characteristic polynomial of any kind of LFSM has been recently found. In this work we show how the computation of this formula can be made faster. This allows the faster computation of an appropriate characteristic polynomial for the target LFSM so that linear dependecies are minimized.

Pseudorandom Testing – A Study of the Effect of the Generator Type

The test pattern generator produces test vectors that are applied to the tested circuit during pseudo-random testing of combinational circuits. The nature of the generator thus directly influences the fault coverage achieved. In this paper we discuss the influence of the type of pseudo-random pattern generator on stuck-at fault coverage. Linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs) are mostly used a...

Revisiting LFSMs

Abstract—Linear Finite State Machines (LFSMs) are particular primitives widely used in information theory, coding theory and cryptography. Among those linear automata, a particular case of study is Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) used in many cryptographic applications such as design of stream ciphers or pseudo-random generation. LFSRs could be seen as particular LFSMs without inputs. I...

Numerical Solution of Weakly Singular Ito-Volterra Integral Equations via Operational Matrix Method based on Euler Polynomials

Introduction Many problems which appear in different sciences such as physics, engineering, biology, applied mathematics and different branches can be modeled by using deterministic integral equations. Weakly singular integral equation is one of the principle type of integral equations which was introduced by Abel for the first time. These problems are often dependent on a noise source which a...

Correlation bounds for polynomials over {0, 1}1

This article is a unified treatment of the state-of-the-art on the fundamental challenge of exhibiting explicit functions that have small correlation with low-degree polynomials over {0, 1}. It discusses long-standing results and recent developments, related proof techniques, and connections with pseudorandom generators. It also suggests several research directions.

Trajectory Planning Using High Order Polynomials under Acceleration Constraint

The trajectory planning, which is known as a movement from starting to end point by satisfying the constraints along the path is an essential part of robot motion planning. A common way to create trajectories is to deal with polynomials which have independent coefficients. This paper presents a trajectory formulation as well as a procedure to arrange the suitable trajectories for applications. ...
